With the 'green' bandwagon careering completely out of control it's not surprising that the refrigeration sector of the LCV market is looking at electricity for answers

Electrically-driven fridge units look set to become a lot more popular among operators of temperature-controlled panel vans. So says Eurofrigo UK managing director, Dave Richards.
Earlier this year his company launched two battery-driven refrigeration systems — the B2500XT and B2500 Skyline — in Britain. Fit one and you'll find your fuel consumption improves by up to eight per cent when compared with the performance of an identical vehicle on similar work but fitted with a fridge unit driven directly off the engine, Richards claims.

Eurofrigo Limited has been selected as one of the major West Midlands SME in the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Supply Chain for automotive applications

The Hydrogen and Fuel Cell  projects are aimed at the future hydrogen (H2) and fuel cell (FC) economy which many analysts believe will be dominating the energy structure of Britain by 2050 as a result of the high efficiencies, zero emissions and easy conversions which can be attained with hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.  Manufacturing industry outside the chemicals sector also recognises early markets for the H2&FC economy. Large Plcs are running major projects on components and devices for the H2&FC economy, while many SMEs are making the parts or components which are required in the engineering systems such as CHP generators and vehicle systems, fuel cell catalysts and materials, hydrogen stores and gas turbine hybrids which are at the forefront of this technology. The aim of this project is to study and implement the supply chain for the Hydrogen and Fuel Cell systems in collaboration with West Midlands suppliers. The project is currently formalising a consortium which will work together to build and extend the supply chain in our region. The projects will focus on innovative systems and on the way these can spread to automotive and domestic applications.
